Triple action refers to the three components that make up this spray: a highly concentrated combination of pepper spray, tear gas, and UV dye.
You don't need to make a direct hit to your attacker because this spray combination quickly takes effect to give you the upper hand. The pepper spray causes choking and eye irritation. The tear gas causes profuse tearing, shortness of breath, and disorientation. The UV dye leaves a long-lasting residue to help with identification.
